How did you meet?

We met on Bumble, a dating app where the women make the first move! We clicked right away and Nikko told me he knew I was the one after our first conversation. I stated my intentions clearly from the very beginning and without a pause, he responded with: “I want you to meet my mom.” You hear about love at first sight, but never did we ever think it would happen to us. I actually had the opportunity to meet the CEO/ founder of Bumble while filming with Ellen Degeneres last year and I was able to tell Whitney that I met my future husband (at the time) on her app. She was elated and it was a super special moment I’ll always cherish.

How did Nikko pop the question?

I knew the engagement was coming because we had been looking at rings for months, and I thought he was planning an elaborate proposal at the beach with a videographer and some friends. But the Monday before the weekend he was going to propose, he said that he couldn’t wait any longer and popped the question at our front door. He said that I had woken up cracking jokes that morning and he knew in that moment that he didn’t want to wait any longer because he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I came downstairs that morning as I normally do to pack his lunch and send him off to work. But he said that he had to run outside to his truck to grab something. I heard the door handle jiggle and thought it was stuck so I opened the door and there he was, on one knee with the most dreamy look (& ring) in hand. I will never forget it. It was the most unassuming and surprising way he could have proposed. I was still in my PJs—it was just the two of us and it was so perfect.

Favorite memory from your wedding day?

Nikko’s favorite part about our wedding day was having our families together and seeing how well they meshed with each other. There was so much love on our special day and our guests kept coming up to us saying that they could really see how much we loved each other. My favorite part about our wedding was right after I walked down the aisle, my husband blurted out: “I’d like to marry this woman immediately”. It was unscripted and in the moment and cracked everyone up. That set the tone for the rest of our wedding! We both loved the dancing as well! Our sister Arteivia and niece Emanilia danced the Samoan dance, which was beyond special and we had our favorite DJ P-Jay from PWR 106, spinning our favorite songs all night. It felt like a huge party with the most gorgeous views of the California coast. It was truly unforgettable.
