The Barn at Villa Venezia | Middletown, NY
We were back at one of our favorite New York wedding venues this spring, The Barn at Villa Venezia. We’ve captured many wedding days at this beautiful venue and love the way it offers so many options for couples to add their personalized touches, really making sure you are able to add your personality to your wedding day. We loved celebrating Malory & James as they tied the knot with their family & friends. There were many heartfelt and special touches to their wedding that we loved capturing. We are thrilled to share a little bit of their love story and some of their wedding day photos here.
How did you meet?
We met during undergrad in 2015 in Scranton, PA through mutual friends. There was always an innocent crush that was hard to overlook, but we remained friends for almost 3 years. It wasn’t until 2018, after a few chipotle dates that we realized that maybe a simple crush could actually be more.
How did you get engaged?
Our engagement took place at one of our favorite local wineries called Three Hammers in Hawley, PA.
The winery has a short hiking trail to a small romantic bridge overlooking the marsh.
After some convincing, James managed to get Malory to walk down the trail (in heels) and at the perfect moment dropped to his knee. Without hesitation of course Malory said yes! James had also arranged to have both our immediate families from NY and FL waiting at the end the trail to celebrate. It was nothing short of perfect.
What is your favorite wedding day memory?
Our favorite memory besides saying I do at the alter would have to be looking out towards the crowd both after the ceremony on the dance floor that night knowing how much love was surrounding us.
What piece of advice do you have for engaged couples?
After the rush of the big day and all the noise settles, don’t forget your vows. There is no greater gift in this lifetime than your partnership with one another. Choose each other, every second of every day because together you truly are more unstoppable than you ever could be apart.
Cheers to a lifetime filled with love & happiness!
